What does it matter the colour of someone's hair? I know that some people who have cancer wear 'obvious' wigs - although I am sure this is not the case here. This colour has recently been made popular by Katy Perry.

Why draw attention to someone who isn't causing any bother?

I have never commented on Photo-A-Day - but I will in future - there are some beautiful pictures of birds on there (as in the avian kind) that get slated for no reason. It must be really hard somtimes to choose the winner.

They are all winners, VG, that's why they are on P.a.D.
It's just the comments are uncalled for, and irrelevant.
Much like my posts.

Comment by RON on 22nd July 2012 at 15:44

Please note in future any derogatory comments won't be added to any 'Photo A Day' photographs. The photographs put on the site don't have to be of the BEST quality it is the content that is important, and thanks to the people who take the time and trouble to take them. It would appear that recently certain people are posting comments to antagonise other people. I notice that these people don't put any photographs on the site or contribute to the site in any positive way.

It is not a Photographic competition

Hear hear.

Comment by Ernest Pyke on 5th September 2012 at 14:25:

Janice, this photo is the type you see entered in a photo competition and is irrevelant on P-a-D, which is NOT a competition.
My sport, from the age of thirteen in 1941, was crown green bowling until I got hooked on golf in the early sixties. Still have my set of bowls and jack bought in 1946.
Hijacking, as you put it, on P-a-D is commonplace now.

Similarly with those who may be wary of submitting pics.

And there's the catch 22.

Complain and you're at risk of being seen to happily give it, but not take it.

Also, I dread going down the 'he started it Miss' avenue.

Manipulative people are manipulative people.

Like a child pushing boundaries. Define provocation.

Arguably just the right side of 'the law', but clearly trying it on.

As with the guilty child's "What did I do?" cry, whilst feigning innocence.

Harry Enfield does a great take on that theme with the 'Harry and Lulu' sketches.

Though in those sketches, the sly little lad hasn't quit got it to a fine art yet.

Thread originally about negative comments on the Photo A Day pages, Marie. By various people, though some different names appear to have similar ways of typing.

Latterly (tonight), compared such comments with those of the resident stalker.

Not suggesting that the stalker is doing the comments on the P a D pages.

Not as much as the effect as, threats, personal and sick comments have, just for having an opinion

Brian needs to have a word with the people who think the rules dont apply to them and post links/pictures, and come out with comments, that break the rules and then say the site is used by children when it suits

Just like it isnt on when people get verbally abused for having an opinion or disagreeing with someone

Let me explain.

Some folk (myself included) , have a bit of fun with each other when it comes to typo's.

Mache is the Grand Master. You should have seen the near misses he had with the simple word 'walking'.

But.

And this is important.

I wouldn't comment about eveyone's errors as I would hate to put folk off who are not the best of spellers. Some may have left school at an early age, and are even now just plucking up the courage to use a keyboard.

These people are to be encouraged, rather than put off.

As you have brought Borg's error to our (and his) attention:

Welcome to the club.

In other words, you too are fair game.

I don't blame you Lizzie, I have never commented on PAD. I can't for the life of me understand why someone would trash a person for sharing a beautiful photo.

The nature and wildlife shots are often the best, and the fact that someone has taken the time to record that and share it with other people is a lovely gesture. There are some people who are old or infirm and unable to get out, who I am sure look forward to those photos.

Presumably written in jest, the pic is in daylight, but that's what actually happens along there after dark.

By 'has a point', I mean about what happens there. Not for one minute suggesting the person in the pic is involved in such activity.
